How COPIERA actually copies trades, what it supports, and what happens when things go sideways. Can't find an answer? Email us at info@copiera.io.
About COPIERA
What is COPIERA?+
COPIERA is cloud-hosted futures trade-copying software. A user connects supported account routes, selects one leader per copy group, and chooses which followers are active within the plan limit. The same platform provides follower controls, realized-P&L risk lockouts, copy-health records, and execution-based journaling.
How is COPIERA different from other futures trade copiers?+
COPIERA combines a Rust routing engine, independent follower dispatch, idempotent execution records, position reconciliation, realized-P&L risk lockouts, and an execution-based journal. Internal signal-to-dispatch time is measured separately from broker acknowledgement and fill time, so the dashboard does not present a provider or exchange delay as COPIERA routing latency.
Is COPIERA legit and is copy trading legal?+
COPIERA is operated by Copiera Oy and provides user-directed execution software; it is not a broker, investment adviser, signal provider, or custodian. Laws and broker or prop-firm rules vary by jurisdiction and account. Users must confirm that their intended use is permitted. This answer is product information, not legal advice.
Speed and execution
How fast does COPIERA copy a trade?+
COPIERA tracks internal signal-to-dispatch time: from an accepted source event until an eligible follower request is handed to its provider adapter. Broker acknowledgement and market fill time are separate. End-to-end results depend on the provider API, network conditions, permissions, and market liquidity.
Do follower orders fire in parallel or sequentially?+
Eligible follower requests are started independently rather than sent through one sequential follower loop. Each provider still processes its own request, and an account can be skipped or rejected because of risk state, position state, permissions, or provider response.
Will I miss a copy if my computer is off?+
A supported cloud route does not require the trader's computer or a trader-managed VPS to remain on. Copying still depends on COPIERA service availability, valid broker sessions, account permissions, and the external provider route.
Supported brokers and prop firms
Which brokers and platforms does COPIERA support?+
Production routes include Tradovate OAuth and the conformed R | Protocol API integration. COPIERA also implements TradingView webhook input and conditional TopstepX/ProjectX, CQG, DXtrade, Volumetrica, and DxFeed routes. The exact account must expose compatible access and permissions; see the compatibility page for the current route-by-route requirements.
Which prop firms work with COPIERA?+
COPIERA connects to execution routes, not to a prop-firm name by itself. Accounts from firms such as Topstep, Apex Trader Funding, MyFundedFutures, TakeProfitTrader, Tradeify, or Lucid Trading can be eligible when that specific account is provided through a supported Tradovate, Rithmic, or TopstepX/ProjectX route with the required permissions.
Can I mix prop firm accounts with personal accounts in one group?+
Yes, when every account has been validated through a supported route. The engine evaluates each selected follower independently, so a provider rejection or protective skip remains visible instead of being treated as a successful copy.
Setup and accounts
How long does setup take?+
Setup time depends on the provider, account count, existing API access, and whether broker agreements or permissions are already active. Create a connections group, authorize or validate the route, select the returned accounts, choose one leader, enable followers, and test the full entry and exit workflow before live use.
How many accounts can I link?+
Basic supports up to 10 active followers in 1 group, Pro up to 25 active followers across 2 groups, and Elite up to 200 active followers across 5 groups. Each group has one leader. Current plan details and pricing are listed on the pricing page.
Can I size the same trade differently across accounts?+
Yes. Each follower has a whole-number ratio, micros-only control, and maximum-position cap. The engine applies those settings before an eligible opening request is routed.
Risk management
How does the daily loss lockout work?+
You set a max daily loss in the risk page. The engine sums realized P&L from copied executions in the current futures session. The moment the sum drops to your limit, the engine stops routing new opening signals and marks your account locked. The lock auto-resets at the next 18:00 ET futures session boundary — the same rollover the futures session uses, so it lines up cleanly with prop firm daily resets.
Are weekly and trailing drawdown limits supported?+
Yes. You can enable max weekly loss, weekly profit goal, and weekly trailing drawdown (peak-to-current) — same enforcement model as the daily limits. The weekly window opens Sunday 18:00 ET, matching the futures week open.
Does the engine flatten open positions when I hit a limit?+
When a limit hits, new signals are blocked. To exit positions you can use the Flatten All button on the dashboard, which sends close orders to every active follower. Automatic flatten-on-lockout is on the roadmap.
Security and data
How are my broker credentials stored?+
Stored broker credentials and tokens are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM and are not written to application logs. They are decrypted only when needed and sent over encrypted connections to the provider endpoints the user authorized. OAuth is used where the provider supports it.
Does COPIERA see or move my money?+
No. We don't custody funds. Your broker holds the money; we just place orders in the accounts you've authorized. We have no withdraw or transfer capability — you can verify this in any broker that exposes API permissions per token.
Where is COPIERA hosted?+
Our engine and database run on dedicated infrastructure on AWS. Traffic is reverse-proxied through Caddy with automatic TLS, and the engine itself is not exposed to the public internet — only the frontend and webhook ingress are.
Plans and billing
Do you have a free trial?+
Eligible new customers can start Basic, Pro, or Elite with a 7-day trial. Unless canceled before the trial ends, the subscription renews at the selected monthly or annual price shown at checkout.
How does billing work?+
Stripe subscriptions, monthly or yearly. You can switch tiers any time — the next invoice prorates. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.
What happens if I cancel?+
Cancellation takes effect according to the Stripe subscription terms shown at checkout and in the account portal. Paid product access ends when the paid period ends. Data handling then follows COPIERA's current retention and privacy terms.
